2012

OPENED IN 2012

ROCA Sports opened it’s doors in 2012, initially specialising in Sportful Custom Clothing, borne through a deep relationship between Nicolas Roche (Director) and Sportful developed during his professional career along with the drive and vision of Thomas Cahill (Director) together they embarked on a journey spanning over a decade which has now delivered over 2500 custom cycling kits across the Ireland and beyond.

Initially the business was mobile with a small stores at Thomas’s family home in Cork, the business quickly outgrew this….

MORE BRANDS

As the business grew Thomas knew there was a gap in the market for Premium Italian Cycling Brands in Ireland and along came Scicon, Limar and Castelli.

A THIRST FOR MORE

2015 saw the arrival of TACX Custom Bottles, to date over 1500 orders for clubs, businesses and events have been supplied and the brand remains a major part of the custom program ROCA Sports offers.

SOME BIKES

At this point Thomas was approached by BMC Bikes and the decision was made to distribute these across Ireland, a number of key dealers were appointed across the country and ROCA Sports continued to support the brand and shops until the summer of 2020 when Covid changed the retail space for many.

THE SHOP

In October of 2020 ROCA Sports officially opened their flagships store in Cork, a vast retail space with purpose built workshops, strategically located on the FOTA Retail & Business Park. Cycling as a sport was booming post pandemic and within weeks the store was packed with new bikes, clothing, accessories and most importantly a vision for growth.
